Trump declines to call China a currency manipulator after previously criticizing Obama for not doing the same
Summary:
Flip
Before choosing not to declare China a currency manipulator, Trump tweeted, among other things, that China’s currency manipulation was one of the greatest threats to the US, and that China was laughing at us for not addressing their manipulation:
China is stealing our jobs. We need to demand China stop manipulating its currency and end its rampant corporate espionage.

Flop
After all the alarm and criticism over others not calling China a currency manipulator, Trump flipped his position and stated on April 12, 2017, in Wall Street Journal interview about China: “They’re not currency manipulators.”
Trump also tweeted:
Why would I call China a currency manipulator when they are working with us on the North Korean problem? We will see what happens!
